Meet Our Summer Interns
Our summer interns work through the Launch Tennessee Specialist Program, a program established in 2014 as a way to provide students the opportunity to engage in Tennessee’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. They will become the newest experts on every aspect of theCO, from communications to the CO:mobile to the makerspace and more, so get to know them below and swing by to meet them in-person!
Korey Adams
I am from Jackson and currently attend Union University as a sophomore. In high school, I found a passion for language, and I have always wanted to do business, so I am studying both Spanish and French with a minor is Business. My goal is to get my MBA after completing my undergraduate degree and then do business on an international platform. I’m hoping that spending time with the variety of skills and talents at theCO will help me become better rounded. I love to work in the makerspace, and I hope to be a part of some content creation for Our Jackson Home. But I look forward most to going out on the CO:mobile to meet people in the community and get them to see what all theCO has to offer.

I’m a Journalism and Public Relations student at the University of Memphis at Lambuth. I am passionate about creating and communicating stories. I hope this internship will help me gain entrepreneurship knowledge. I am also eager to learn from mentors and fine-tune my creative process. I am most interested in engaging in the community at theCO. I think community in general is one thing Jackson offers its professionals over other cities.

I’m a senior Physics major at Union University and plan to attend graduate school in fall of 2017 in pursuit of a Doctorate in Nuclear Physics. I hope to come away from theCO at the end of the summer with a deeper and wider range of knowledge in technology and innovation. I want to be able to communicate and encourage the cooperative study and advancement of those pursuits. I will be mostly involved in the makerspace, but I will also be helping with some of the tech found here as well.
Ben Thorell
I am a senior Business Management major at Union University. I was raised in Memphis and went to Macon Road Baptist School from kindergarten to twelfth grade. I did an internship with Enterprise last summer where I gained valuable sales and customer experience. In addition to theCO, I am also doing an internship this summer with Allygn, an executive recruiting firm. My hobbies involve playing and watching sports; reading; and playing the piano, guitar, and saxophone. I seek to get some knowledge this summer at theCO on how to start and grow a small business, as well as learn more about entrepreneurship and commerce as a whole.
